There are a lot of web sites on the internet dedicated to covering baseball. There are blogs dedicated to covering every trade rumor, free agent release or signing, and 24-hour breaking news. There are even more blogs that provide in depth analysis of more niche subjects, such as sabremetrics. The Orioles Observer falls into none of these categories.

Written and edited by two life long, die-hard Orioles fans, the Observer looks to cover what everyone else doesn’t. We don’t focus on breaking news, statstics, or rants against team management on and off the field. The mission statement of the Orioles Observer is to provide meaningful content from the die-hard fan perspective. We live and breath Orioles baseball. We’ve been there for the bad times and we’ve been there for the good times.

Too many sites tend to flock towards negative news, appearing to want to jump off the ship when the team goes through a losing streak, something that happens to all 30 major league teams each and every year. We want to buck that trend, pardon the pun. You want a negative perspective? You are at the wrong site. While we can clearly see the forest through the trees, we want to bring interesting stories and antedotes showing the growth and revival of a great franchise, which began slowly in July 2007 and has built through today.
